| Includes: – 1 Sensing node: The nodes are the devices that are placed around the area of interest.
Features: – Senses through obstructions: Infrared and optical sensors are often obstructed in environments where equipment and inventory move frequently. Xandem TMD senses through walls and obstructions, so the end user is free to use their space as they need without worrying about sensor blockage. – Invisible: Infrared and optical sensors must remain exposed to the environments that they sense. That means intruders and visitors can “scope” a site while planning an intrusion. Xandem TMD has the option to remain completely hidden, thus reducing significant vulnerabilities and enhancing aesthetics. – Complete coverage: TMD senses motion over areas, not just perimeters. TMD can sense areas up to 10,000 square feet depending on density of obstructions and number of nodes. – Dirty: Infrared and optical sensors can completely break down when lenses become dirty. Dirt and dust have no effect on Xandem TMD. – Immunity: TMD is not triggered by changes in temperature, light, small animals, smoke, insects or dust. – Plug and Play: TMD is easily integrated with standard panel equipment through normally-closed contacts.
How It Works A Xandem TMD system is built with two kinds of devices: nodes and a processing unit. Multiple nodes surround the area where motion is to be detected. The nodes form a powerful mesh network that senses when objects move within the area of the mesh, even through walls and obstructions. Each node is not a sensor, the mesh network connecting the nodes is the sensor. The processing unit is a gateway with normally-closed relays that connect to any standard panel. TMD User Guide – Revision C (Updated Oct 1, 2013)Â Coverage Areas TMD is sold in kits of 6, 10 and 15 nodes. The best kit size depends on the square footage of the area you want to cover, and the density of the obstructions within the area. Use the table below as a guideline for choosing a kit size. These sizes may vary depending on the environment.
